Thanks for the memories, it was wonderful to take a trip down memory lane of Anawalt and Jenkinjones, W.VA. My father was Everett French Banks and was killed in the coal mines in 1954 up at the coal mines in Jenkinjones along with 2 other men. I loved the history there. My Mother's name was Evelyn Mae Banks Rucker. I graduated from Gary High School in 1970.

I am a descendant of Zachariah, John A. Sr., Luther and Cortis & Ruth Bailey. The pictures of our home place stirs many childhood experiences and emotions within me. I will forever feel a tugging "homesickness" to recapture the places and people of my happy childhood there. The Lord blessed us abundantly with family and friends that were so rich in life, in love and delicious food. I have such rich memories of growing up in Little Creek, Leckie and Anawalt. The people were hard working and honest. They held firm to the American values and freedoms of our founding fathers. I will always be proud to claim these deep roots from West Virginia. Although I now live far away, there are conitunually people that cross my path with a WV connection within their family - and it's always special when that happens.
