Spencer Curve, is a little community outside of Anawalt. It is named after a family named Spencer, they lived in a large house on a very sharpe curve and the area is known as Spencer Curve,
There was one church a Baptist church which was started in the home of Furches Belevins. He also had a store at the top level at the road. The building was on a hill and it was three levels.. The top level was the store, middle was the home of the Belevins family. and the bottom level was the church until the new church was built. I have a link where you can visit the beginnings of the church. www.longpointmbc.com/index-6.htm
Some of the families that lived in the area are, Belivins, Goss, Spencer, Kirk, Gilley, Grubb, Riddle, Woolridge, Overbaugh, Cocharan,Hall,Sexton,
There was also another store Halls, this is where the school buses would stop to pick the children, going to Anawalt and Gary Schools. A place to warm up after long walks to the bus stop. Everyone walked no car pooling.
I AM LOOKING FOR MORE PICTURES AND INFORMATION OF THE AREA. SEND TO
